Historical Event on 4/3/1978

Pandit Hridaynath Kunzru, social reformer, politician, passed away. He contributed greatly to public life, fighting against caste system, untouchability etc. He was closely affiliated to the 'Servants of India Society' with Ghokhaleji. He even declined to accept the ""Bharat Ratna"" award conferred on him.

1/26/199921 dalits are gunned down by the Ranbit Sena in Jahanabad district in Bihar.

6/14/1985M.C. Sharma was appointed as the Narcotics Commissioner of India. He headed this office till 10-12-1985.
9/10/1623Shah Jahan entered Rajputana and raided Amber crossing the Tapti. He arrived near the kingdom of Golconda and from there passed on to Orissa which was surrendered to him.
11/12/1939Pratap Chandra Lal arrived at the training establishment at RAF Station, Risalpur. He then rose to the Air Chief Marcharl of Indian Air Force.
10/26/1932Indian Muslim leader demands that Gandhi be released from prison. The Viceroy responded that this was only possible if Gandhi disassociated himself from the civil disobedience campaign.
