Historical Event on 11/20/1930

With all the pageantry of the British Empire, a conference of Indian and British leaders had been convened in London to discuss dominion status for India. Surrounded by Maharajahs in turbans, King George V convened the round table conference in the Royal Gallery of the House of Lords. Notably absent was Mahatma Gandhi, leader of the nationalist movement. The conference saw a breakdown of the Indian caste system as Brahmins dealt with spokesmen for ""untouchable

8/18/1911Adityanath Jha, former Governor of Delhi, was born.
8/9/1942Mahatma Gandhi after announcing 'do or die' slogan alongwith 'Quit India Movement' at Bombay was arrested along with 50 others. Gandhiji was interned in Aga Khan Palace at Poona. This Do or Die slogan deep rooted in Indian hearts and resulted in nationwide Quit India Movment. This day is commemorated as ""Kranti Day"". Govind Vallabh Pant was send to Ahmednagar Jail, while Sarojini Naidu and many other leaders were also arrested.

7/4/1897Alluri Seetaram Raju, freedom fighter, was born in a Kshatriya clan in Andhra Pradesh. He is rememberred as one of the great sons of India in the annals of Indian history who fought valiantly for his motherland in the early period of the freedom movement.
