Historical Event on 1/15/1966
The Indian Air Force achieved equal status with the Army and possessed in excess of 70,000 personnel and was nearing its 45-squadron goal. Its composition in the autumn of 1968 included 23 fighter category squadrons, three tactical bomber squadrons, a maritime patrol squadron (with ex-Air India L. 1049G Super Constellations), 11 transport squadrons, four AOP squadrons, a number of helicopter units and a few SAM squadrons.

Other encounters were to follow over the next 10 days within both Indian and Pakistani airspace, before a full-scale war began.
5/27/1930	Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was arrested during Salt Movement.
5/5/1947	Gandhiji denies in an interview that communal division of India is inevitable.
3/2/1930	Gandhiji addresses letter to Viceroy intimating his intention to break Salt Law if Congress demands are not conceded.
