Jaipur, Nov 28 (IANS) Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday gave a befitting reply to the continuous attacks being made by the opposition BJP. He said that the BJP leaders have created an atmosphere of negative politics in the state at the time of the pandemic, when the Rajasthan government is working hard to fight the Covid battle.

Gehlot said that in the last few days, there have been unrestrained statements made by the BJP leaders on Covid management by the Rajasthan government who have also been questioning the future of the ruling dispensation.

The state government is working along with social workers, employees, social organisations and religious leaders amid the Covid pandemic. But the negative politics being done by the opposition party has created public anger against them.

Gehlot said many senior leaders of Rajasthan BJP say that the government will collapse in the coming days. The Leader of Opposition, Gulabchand Kataria, said that the government will topple in Rajasthan in six months. Former BJP president Arun Chaturvedi said that there will be mid-term elections in the state in the coming times. Union minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said that the government has started wavering in Rajasthan. MP Jaskaur Meena said that MLAs can leave the government at any time for the sake of money. All these statements highlight the BJP's anti-democratic thinking, the CM said.

Such statements make it clear that BJP leaders are trying to destabilise the government of Rajasthan on the basis of money power and muscle power. The BJP has made similar efforts in the past, but due to the solidarity and commitment of Congress MLAs, they failed in their effort.

In July, audio taps were made public by the BJP leaders luring Rajasthan MLAs. The MLAs who left the Congress in Gujarat and joined the BJP also reportedly told media that they received Rs 10 crore to leave the Congress and join the BJP.

The BJP, which formed the government through horse trading in Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh, is still frustrated due to the failure of its endeavour to topple the government in Rajasthan, Gehlot said.

The Chief Minister said the Rajasthan government is protecting the people of the state with its efficient management of the Covid pandemic, and even Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised the state government's efforts. The Central government has, in fact, followed many policies of the Rajasthan government for Covid management. But the state BJP leaders are trying to create fear among the public by making unrestrained statements on Covid management in Rajasthan, which is unfortunate, Gehlot said.
